FRIDAY NIGHT FLOW

WHEN:   EVERY FRIDAY AT 5.30 PM, STARTING THE FRIDAY 7TH OF JUNE

                                                                                          

EVENT DETAILS:

Friday Night Flow is a Vinyasa flow class and will be our most dynamic class. It will begin with 40 minutes of standing postures with Sun Salutations weaved throughout. Due to these, the postures in between will be shorter in duration as there will be more emphasis on the Sun Salutations with the movement linked to the breathing cycle. We then continue with 30 minutes on the floor, ending with 5 minutes of breathing exercises and a final savasana. The sequence of poses is smooth and fluid in which one pose runs into the next like a dance.

Flow yoga can be very vigorous, but we are always happy to offer modifications for students who wish to make it gentler. Like all of our classes, Friday Night Flow is available for all levels, including beginners, but it will be our most physical and challenging class with a big emphasis on endurance and core strength. So we recommend you try one of other classes first if you are new to Hot Yoga.

The heaters are turned down to 32 degrees to allow for the additional internal heat that you will create and the class is 75 minutes in length - slightly shorter than our other classes. This is the perfect workout for a Friday night!

This new class will start on Friday 7th June at 5.30pm and will continue as a trial for one or two months depending on its popularity. If feedback is positive it will become a permanent class.

FLOOR SERIES (MUKTI)  - POSTURE WORKSHOP

WHEN:   TBA August 2013    TIME: 12.30 pm to 5.30 pm  COST: $89 includes afternoon tea

EVENT DETAILS:

In this workshop Jane will start with a breif introduction covering the meditative side of yoga, body intelligence, breathing and yoga etiquette. With the help of another qualified teaher she will then cover 15 of the most common floor postures in the Mukti sequence; breaking down every individual posture covering:

  • The health benefits
  • A demonstration of the posture
  • The most common errors
  • Correct form and containment of the posture
  • How to breathe in the posture
  • Modifications and why you may need them
  • Interactive participation, so students can apply the information and experience the desired and correct form
  • Time for questions before we move on to the next posture

This workshop is perfect for all levels - for those who may be unsure of the hot environment and want to know more before joining a class, newbees who want a better understanding of the postures, people that have tried our yoga but have struggled with how it works, or regulars who now want to advance further into their practice. This workshop is designed as an intensive foundation to take you to the next level of your practice.

For the duration of this workshop the studio will be kept at a comfortable room temperature.
